Results of testing by professional independent institutions
Functional coatings FN NANO® were tested by a number of Czech and foreign independent professional institutions for their functionality, efficiency and safety in terms of the applicable standards. Below you can find the published results of this testing which demonstrate the high efficiency, functionality and security of our coatings both in terms of the applicable building, technical and health standards, as well as their photocatalytic efficacy and other characteristics associated with their practical use.

The tests confirmed the very good ability of FN ® 2 to degrade hexane.
Scientific articles and publications on FN NANO® technology
Czech Academy of Sciences – J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry – Rathousky, Zouzelka: NOx Removal from the Air (scientific article)
Scientists from the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, who have long been involved in the study of photocatalysis, have published their conclusions on long-term testing of the effectiveness of FN NANO® coatings in removing nitrogen oxides from the air. The paper concludes that FN NANO® coatings are a promising environmental technology capable of effectively purifying air from a significant pollutant – nitrogen oxides.
Czech Academy of Sciences – J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry – E. Mikyskova, I. Martiniakova, R. Zouzelka, J. Rathousky: Effect of air velocity on NOx removal from air (scientific article)
The work continues and further expands the research of scientists from the Czech Academy of Sciences. The scientific article describes the effects of different weather conditions on the effectiveness of FN NANO® coatings, especially air speed and flow rate. The results demonstrated the high efficiency of these coatings even under demanding flow conditions. A high effect on the reduction of NO and also NO2 was shown.
Czech Academy of Sciences – J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry – R. Zouzelka, I. Martiniakova, T. Duchacek, B. Muzikova, E. Mikyskova, J. Rathousky: Removing Pollution and Emissions from Air, Focusing on Mixtures of Pollutants (scientific article)
Another scientific publication deals with the use of FN NANO® coatings for effective reduction of pollution and emissions from the air. Outdoor air contains many pollutants such as inorganic nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur oxides (SOx) and nitrogen oxide (CO) and ozone (O3), as well as organic and carcinogenic compounds (VOC). The study concludes that the removal efficiency of individual pollutants is not greatly affected when the pollutants are in a mixture. It is therefore possible to model the photocatalytic process even for real conditions based on laboratory measurements.
J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic: Protocol of photocatalytic activity of paint samples FN ® 2 from noise barrier
The Institute of Chemical Technology has tested samples from the test wall on which Advanced Materials-JTJ has been testing for a long time, in conditions of high air pollution, the functionality of coatings (high-traffic four-lane highway intersection with 30,000 cars per day). After two years, the tests proved to maintain high photocatalytic efficiency (the same as for the a new coating).
Safety Assessment of Coatings:
Expert judgment on public health protection
The document states that in terms of Act No. 258/2000 Coll. the protection of public health is suitable, “stated that the handling of products” (FN ® 1-3) “can be considered safe” .
VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava: Report on the Measurement of Nano and Micro-Particles in the Working Environment of the Paskov Preschool (FN ®Coating Application Tests )
The report concludes that: “The results of the subsequent analysis of captured aerosol indicate that no significant Titanium representation was found in the composition . The observed concentrations of titanium (if detected) do not exceed background levels commonly found in aerosol in the atmosphere. “In conclusion, therefore effectively it states that in the rooms where they are applied coatings in fact there is no release of nanoparticle TiO2 FN ® coating layer to the room kindergarten. Otherwise, this would necessarily result in an increase in the measured amount of Ti.
EAA: Ecotoxicity and phototoxicity
The EAA expert report shows that the toxicity of the FN ® 2 coating without UV irradiation is significantly low . Covering microscopic organisms only shows more significant toxicity when irradiated with UV light . At the same time, tests have shown that no higher toxicity (fish) has been observed even at an extreme concentration of 250 ml FN ® / 1000 ml water .
SZÚ: Protocol of bactericidal and virucidal activity tests of FN ® 2
Tests have demonstrated high bactericidal and virucidal efficacy of FN ® 2 on UV activation.
ISO Test for Antimicrobial Activity of FN2 and FN3
Test performed by EMSL laboratory in Houston, Texas, according ISO Method 27447 proving eradication of AMRSA, Escherichia Coli and Salmonella, with excellent results.

CTU, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Business Management and Economics: “Comparative LCA Study FN2 and Air Purifier”
The study comprehensively assesses the life cycle impacts (from production and processing of raw materials to the product, its use to disposal) to the environment. The conclusion of this paper states: “Based on this study, the use of FN2 photocatalytic coating is considerably more environmentally friendly than using an air purifier.”
NOTICE: The company has re-branded the registered FN® brand for commercial reasons on the 1. 10. 2021. Currently, two registered brands are used, the international FN NANO® and the Czech FN®. It has simplified the trade name by deleting the word “Protectam” and uses the designations FN® 1, FN® 2 and FN® 3 or newly FN NANO® 1, FN NANO® 2, FN NANO® 3, FN NANO® BioMax, FN NANO® Wood and FN NANO® Aqua. In addition to the basic product designation functional coatings FN®, all documents also mention the trade name Protectam, which is no longer in use and will be gradually replaced by the above-mentioned simplified name FN NANO®.
