Insulated Facades

Protection of Insulated Facades

FN NANO® functional coatings will protect the insulated facade of your house for a long time from the destructive effects of ultraviolet radiation, the deposition of mold and algae, and soot and dirt pollution dispersed in the air.

The coating effectively increases the resistance of the insulated facade against the deposition of cobwebs. It will ensure the long-term preservation of its clean appearance, thus reducing the erosive effects of repeated mechanical and chemical cleaning.

Annoying features of insulated facades:

The need for continuous qualified care = higher maintenance costs: insulated facades are structurally more complex than facades without insulation. Even a well-executed insulated facade therefore requires systematic, professionally qualified care.

If the sun shines on the surface of the insulated facade, it will heat up very quickly. If the surface gets into the shade, it cools down very quickly. Insulated surfaces then have a lower surface temperature than the surroundings. As a result, dust particles settle on them faster and air humidity condenses. Therefore, they get dirty more quickly with atmospheric impurities and create a favorable environment for the settling of microorganisms. The susceptibility of insulated facades to dirt and growth of mold and algae is therefore their natural property!

The rapid change of surface temperatures of the insulated facade causes its mechanical stress. Over time, this leads to the formation of microcracks through which water penetrates into the thermal insulation system and mold grows. High thermal stress accelerates, together with the aggressive effects of ultraviolet (UV) radiation, the disintegration of the upper layer of the facade. In addition, UV radiation is the main cause of fading of the facade colors.

Facades of houses in large cities and industrial areas quickly become clogged with soot and other dirt dispersed in the air. In particular, the northern and western sides of the facades of insulated houses are often overgrown with mold and algae. If the homeowner wants to maintain its clean appearance, he must clean the facade. Each cleaning removes dirt from the surface of the facade by mechanical and possibly chemical action. But this can never do without wear and tear on the surface layer of the facade. The cleaning thus contributes to the erosion of the surface layer of the insulated facade. However, if the façade is not cleaned for a long time, the dirt penetrates into deeper layers and the surface cannot be cleaned without obvious damage.

How to maximize the life of an insulated facade

Repair detected defects (cracks, fissures and peeling facade screed) without delay. It is also necessary to repair badly made or damaged gutters, eaves and gutters, from which water flows to the facade.

Use of mineral plasters and mineral paints with mineral pigments (if technically feasible), protection of the facade with a special protective coating against UV radiation.

Use of materials that contain biocidal products or are resistant to the deposition of microorganisms

After each cleaning, repair the surface with a primer or facade paint, use paints with increased resistance to dirt build-up or special protective coatings with an active self-cleaning effect.

This can be achieved by choosing light colors.

Functional coating FN NANO ® - system protection of the insulated facade

Nanotechnological protection FN NANO® solves 5 main problems of insulated facades at once and thus allows to maximize their service life, maintain their nice appearance and minimize the cost of their long-term maintenance.

FN NANO® coating creates a thin layer on the surface of the facade, which completely stops UV radiation, which does not pass through it to the substrate. This fully protects it against cracking and disintegration of the organic components of the plaster binder and facade paints.

The special physical properties of the FN NANO® protective layer create a long-term functional and very effective shield against the deposition of microorganisms on the facade surface. Mold and algae do not grow on the facade. Surfaces treated with functional FN NANO® paint do not need to be cleaned!

The sticky components of the dirt are decomposed with the help of daylight energy and the rest of the dust is removed by rain and wind. Vertical surfaces remain permanently clean for 10 years or more. No need to clean them!

The protective FN NANO® layer shows a super strong active self-cleaning effect. It therefore remains clean in the long run. Cleaning is carried out only locally in places where rainwater cannot wash away dust. Cleaning can be done with means that do not damage the surface of the facade. The protective layer is renewed once every ten years. For sloping surfaces exposed to direct weather conditions once every 5 years. Surfaces treated with the functional FN NANO® 2 coating show, on surfaces with direct sunlight, a significantly increased resistance to the deposition of cobwebs.

FN NANO® protective coatings are produced semi-transparent, white or in a wide range of light color shades, which are suitable for reducing the thermal stress of the facade.

Our staff or certified companies will be happy to advise you on the use of a specific type of FN NANO® coating.

FN NANO® functional coatings are the most effective photocatalytic coating on the world market. Competitive products outperform up to a hundred times.
